ECCO Pro was abandoned by its owner around 1997 or so, but still has a large and loyal user/fan base, among which I am one. Pretty regularly now, people posting on the ECCO Pro Yahoo group ask about running ECCO on Vista. It runs fine there, but the old install doesn't. NetManage still gives the app away for free, but if you need an updated installer for it, you can get one here.
THANK-YOU THANK-YOU for the ECCO post !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. THANKS again!!!!!

Thanks! Your updated installer works under Windows 7 Release Candidate. ecco.alm, ecco.cfx, and ecco.fdb are now put back in the Windows directory. Interesting.

I've been using Ecco in a very basic way for at least 15 years but the only CD I have is Eccopro 3.0 . I must have downloaded the 4.01 upgrade as that is what I've been using for some time on a laptop running on Windows XP.
My laptop died so I bought a new one which runs with Vista but cannot install Ecco. I printed out the instructions on the eccoMAGIC forum but there does not seem to be an EccoPro.reg file on my CD. A more knowledgeable friend says that the reg file is probably on the CD (or electronic version) of EccoPro 4.01 so I should like to get hold of a copy. Do you sell this product or know where I can get one?
Any help would be very much appreciated - I'm lost without Ecco! As a backstop is there anyway of exporting my Ecco calendar to Outlook on my new laptop? I think I can see how to do this with Phonebook but not the Calendar.
With thanks,
Verity

Thank you!!! I've been using Ecco Pro for years, but was told I would need to abandon it when I moved to a new 64-bit machine. I've spent countless hours looking for a replacement, but could not find anything that was even remotely similar. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this. Thank you, thank you.

Thanks for the updated installer. Ecco is one of those singular achievements--nothing I've tried has come close to what it can do.
This effectively removes my main roadblock to upgrading to a 64-bit OS. Cheers!

I've been using ECCO with Vista for awhile. I don't recall having installation problems (maybe I've forgotten!). What I can't do is work with a syncronized copy, using my flash drive. Will reinstalling using the updated installer solve that problem? Thanks.

Thanks so much for this. Ecco works great now on my Vista 64. Just wondering if you can tell me how to know if the Palm/Pilot conduits are installed? Trying to hotsync with a TX and Ecco data is not being picked up. It works on my 32 bit laptop, but not on my new 64bit desktop.

It works great on Windows 7. The only issue is unable to print. Upon Print, the printer is recognized, activated, the spool opens, paper is drawn, and there is the 'unable to print' and nothing is printed. Kindly help to resolve the print part of ECCO. Many Thanks.

Is it possible to synch Ecco with an iPhone or other mobile phone? Or an iTouch? Or, indeed, any PDA other than the old Palms? Now that Ecco's working fine on my Vista laptop (thanks again for that), I'd very much like to be able to synch it to something I can carry around with me.

I used to be the UK distributor for Ecco back in the 90s - and still nothing beats it. Thanks for the 64-bit version - works fine with W7.

Hey there,
thank you very much for the post. For years I could not install Ecco on my Win7 machine without problems. But this downloader works perfectly.

Thanks, I have been using EccoPro since 3.1 days (I believe it goes back that far) and was concerned when I finally shifted to Vista. I am writing near future America, speculative fiction novels and I need the outliner and columns as a project control tool to insure that I have my facts and fictions straight (see joadcycle.com) and only Ecco can do this for me even after all these years. You saved me. Thanks again

Thanks so much for this information. I started using Ecco in 1995 and have found no replacement but am being forced to move to Windows 7 from XP by my employer and could not get the 4.1 update to install.
Your information about the updated Ecco 4.1 installer was a lifesaver and saved hours of searching for the answer!

What a great find... thanks much!
From the FWIW department... the updated installer mentioned above works just fabulously under the Windows 8 DEVELOPER PREVIEW (x64 distribution).
Thanks again!
